Crafts · Friedrichskoog
Challenge:
A master craftsman's business on the North Sea coast wanted an appearance that looked like handcrafted work rather than a modular system – and one that they could maintain themselves.

Result:
Completely renewed in 2026, charging time approximately ten times faster, state-of-the-art technology. View case study →

The blue house
Holiday rentals · Friedrichskoog

Result:
A standalone website with a complete SEO and JSON-LD layer. View case study →

Six projects, six very different websites
Portal, holiday home, industry, specialist retail, brand, medical technology — each time a different target group, a different tone, a different design.
fewo-nordostsee.de — Portal for over 150 holiday accommodations on the North and Baltic Seas: public search for guests, own workspace for hosts.
Portal · WordPress · Tourism
Fewo-Nordostsee.de — a website that has to serve two target groups
Most websites have one target audience. This portal has two—and both expect something completely different. Guests want to find the perfect vacation rental in just a few clicks. Hosts want to maintain their listing, adjust prices according to the season, and keep track of occupancy without needing any technical expertise.
We therefore designed two interfaces instead of one. Externally, it's a portal with over 150 accommodations, destination pages, and a search function that filters by location, dates, and amenities. Internally, it's a host area that functions like a cockpit: overview, reservations, messages, payouts, and invoices all in one place. The Homey theme provided the foundation, but the real breakthrough came from over 50 custom extensions—each a separate module designed to be update-safe, ensuring that future theme updates don't overwrite anything. The listing editor was recently completely redesigned: a full workspace, preview banners, and the ability to add photos and videos directly to the description.
Public portal and host area in one system
Over 50 custom extensions, built to be update-safe
Availability calendar with seasonal prices and rules of stay
Destination pages and SEO as an integral part of the structure
Result: A website that reduces administrative overhead instead of creating it — booking, calendar, prices, messages and invoices are all centrally located in one place.
industriearmaturen-shop24.de — completely rebuilt frontend for a B2B shop, with its own product gallery, mega menu and datasheet modal.
B2B frontend · Hyvä · In-house development
Industriearmaturen-Shop24 — when the website is a sales channel
For Barthel Armaturen, the website is not a brochure, but rather the ordering platform for mechanical engineering, shipyards, and industrial procurement. Accordingly, the requirements were high: the front end had to be fast, clearly present technical products, and reflect procurement processes that differ between B2B and B2C.
We completely rebuilt the frontend—based on Hyvä with a custom theme on top. This includes a mega menu with five main categories, a minicart hover dropdown, a redesigned footer, and a custom-developed product gallery with hover zoom, a permanent magnifying glass, swipe functionality on smartphones, and a pinch-zoom lightbox. Technical buyers need documentation: datasheets are available as PDFs in the modal with iframe previews; we converted 434 absolute references to relative paths for this purpose. On mobile devices, snap-scroll USPs guide users through the arguments, and the category filters have been completely revamped with consistent parameters and labels.
Custom theme based on Hyvä instead of standard layout
Product gallery with hover zoom, magnifying glass, swipe and pinch lightbox
Datasheet modal with PDF preview directly on the product
Mega menu, minicart dropdown and redesigned filter overlays
Result: A frontend with PageSpeed scores above 90 — and an interface tailored to technical procurement rather than window shopping.
blaue-haus.de — Website for a single-pitched roof house in Friedrichskoog-Spitze, implemented as a completely custom WordPress theme with weather and tide widgets.
WordPress · custom theme · no page builder
The Blue House — a self-built holiday home website
The blue house is a blue-grey A-frame house in Friedrichskoog-Spitze, right on the North Sea coast, privately rented. The client wanted a quiet, high-quality, and personal website that would showcase the house emotionally and simultaneously generate booking inquiries—managed by the owners themselves.
We built the site entirely as a custom WordPress theme: no framework, no page builder, just style.css, functions.php, and template parts according to WordPress standards. The core feature is a custom booking request module with a date picker, blocked availability periods, live price calculation, and GDPR consent. We also added a masonry image gallery with a lightbox and two widgets that truly bring the location to life: live weather data from the German Weather Service (DWD) and tide information from the German Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) tide calendar. The contact form only loads the map upon click, and the fonts are stored locally—both for data privacy reasons.
Hand-built theme, lean and maintainable, without page builder bloat.
Booking request with date picker, availability blocks and live price
Live weather (DWD) and tides (BSH) directly on the page
GDPR compliant: Click-to-load map, local fonts, JSON-LD
The result: A website that does exactly what it needs to do — and doesn't carry any unnecessary baggage. For landlords, this means a site they themselves keep up to date.
meyer-shop.pl — Specialist retail presence for horticulture, tree nursery and landscaping, distributed across multiple country storefronts.
Specialist retailer · multiple storefronts · since 1819
Hermann Meyer — a website for two countries and two target groups
A specialist retailer with over 200 years of history has a comprehensive catalog and a diverse clientele: professionals from horticulture, nurseries, and landscaping on the one hand, and private customers on the other. Both should be able to find their way around the same website – and that in several countries.
We developed our own streamlined base template, which adopts the proven Meyer design and is optimized for loading speed and conversion rates. The catalog interface is designed for ease of navigation: a clear category structure, filters and sorting across thousands of items, and a direct "Add to Cart" option from the list. On the product page, availability and delivery time are prominently displayed, followed by a dedicated section for bulk orders, product PDFs such as datasheets and assembly instructions, and relevant recommendations. The site is distributed across multiple country-specific storefronts on a shared platform—including German and Polish—with country-specific content and appropriate language signals.
Custom, streamlined template instead of a heavy, purchased theme
Catalog UX for thousands of items with filters and direct ordering
Dedicated business customer area and bulk order inquiries
Multiple country-specific storefronts with correct language signals
Result: A presentation that makes tradition visible — with trust elements such as buyer protection and the year 1819 — and yet is technically state-of-the-art.
Shopware 6 presence for the newXise brand: clear product range management, fast pages, trust elements in the right places.
Brand presence · Shopware 6 · Performance
newXise — Brand presence for functional food
When it comes to dietary supplements, trust is key — and trust is built on transparency and speed. newXise needed a website that presented its complex product range in a fresh and professional manner, without making visitors wait for content.
We designed the information architecture from the product range perspective: a few strong main entry points, consistent product attributes, clean filters, and descriptive URLs—finding instead of searching. The design is mobile-first, with scannable highlights, a clear hierarchy, thumb-friendly buttons, and trust elements precisely where doubts arise during the buying process. On the technical side, we focused on measurable metrics: controlling image formats, lazy loading, organized scripts, and planned caching to ensure the visible content is displayed quickly and the layout doesn't jump around during loading.
Information architecture based on product range logic instead of menu items
mobile-first with a clear hierarchy and trust elements
Performance work on loading time, layout stability and interaction
Customized storefront theme, deliberately few plugins
The result: A performance where design, technology and content all pull in the same direction — instead of hindering each other.
eksobionics.com — complete German localization of an exoskeleton manufacturer's website using WordPress and WPML.
WordPress · WPML · Localization
Ekso Bionics — an existing website for the German market
Ekso Bionics develops exoskeleton technologies that give people with physical limitations greater mobility and independence. Their main website was in English. A simple translation wasn't enough for the German-speaking market—a fully localized version was needed.
We configured WPML so that the German content runs seamlessly alongside the English, translating 30 pages and six blog posts—along with menus, FAQs, and testimonials. The top navigation and footer were rebuilt in German to ensure intuitive user experience. Specifically German pages, such as "Patient and Caregiver," were added, along with a legally compliant imprint. Visibility was primarily a priority, focusing on avoiding duplicate content between language versions and building local SEO in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland); enhanced Google Analytics tracking makes the German reach measurable.
30 pages and 6 blog posts translated and localized
German menu structure instead of mere word translation
Duplicate content between language versions avoided.
German legal notice and extended tracking
Result: An English website was transformed into an independent German site — technically stable, legally compliant and findable in the DACH region.

Frequently Asked Questions about WordPress & Joomla
Everything you need to know about your new website
How much does a website cost in the Hamburg area?
The fixed price depends on the scope of the project, not the postal code area: €2.100–€3.550 for a solid corporate website, €4.800–€8.150 for more extensive websites with multilingual capabilities or custom modules. You will receive the price in writing before we begin. Package prices are net, excluding VAT.
How long does it take to build a new website?
A website with up to ten pages is typically ready in four to six weeks. The timeframe is almost always determined not by the technology, but by how quickly texts and images are available. We'll tell you in advance which materials are needed and when, so there are no delays at the end.
Do I have to provide the text and images myself?
No, but it helps. Those who know their craft often write better technical texts – we polish them up. We can take photos on location upon request or use existing images. We'll take care of anything you can't provide; we'll discuss what you'd like to provide beforehand.
Do you also offer maintenance once the website is finished?
Yes. Updates, backups, and security checks continue to run in the background – details of what this includes can be found on our Maintenance and Support page . It's not mandatory: If you want to manage your website yourself, we'll provide it to you in a state where that's possible.
Can you migrate my old website to WordPress?
Yes, we are experienced in migrating existing websites. Whether from Typo3, Drupal, a website builder, or static HTML pages – we will migrate your content securely to WordPress. SEO rankings will be preserved. We serve businesses in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Check out our WordPress references.
Does my website look good on a mobile phone?
We design for mobile phones first, and then for large screens – not the other way around. For most businesses in the surrounding area, well over half of their visitors arrive via mobile devices, often on the go and with poor reception. That's why we test on actual devices before approval, not just in a scaled-down browser window.
Will you also come to my company?
Yes. We're based in Tornesch, right in the Hamburg metropolitan area – Pinneberg, Elmshorn, Uetersen, Wedel, and Quickborn are all within easy reach. Especially for initial meetings and photo shoots, this is often faster than three video conferences.
How fast does an optimized WordPress website load?
With professional optimization, WordPress websites achieve loading times of under 2 seconds. We utilize caching, CDN, image optimization, and code minification. PageSpeed scores above 90 are standard. Performance optimization for websites in Stade and Glinde. Learn more about our SEO services.
What does the Accessibility Act mean for my website?
The Accessibility Strengthening Act has been in effect since June 28, 2025. It primarily affects websites that sell goods or services to consumers; purely business-oriented websites and very small businesses are often exempt. We build according to the regulations from the outset – considering contrast, font sizes, and keyboard accessibility – and will tell you openly whether your website is affected.
Is WordPress GDPR-compliant for German companies?
Yes, WordPress can be fully configured to comply with GDPR. Cookie consent, privacy policy, contact forms with consent – we implement all legal requirements. Consulting for companies in Schenefeld, Rellingen, and Barmstedt. Learn more about Trusted Shops certification for added peace of mind.
Do I need my own hosting?
You need web hosting and a domain. If you already have both, we'll check if they're suitable. If not, we'll recommend something appropriate – you sign the contract yourself and remain the owner of the domain and data. This is important to us: your website belongs to you, even if you no longer need our services one day.
Can my website later become a shop?
Yes, and that's a good approach: first the presentation, then the sales. We build the website in such a way that a shop can be added without having to rebuild everything. Our WooCommerce agency page shows what that looks like.
How secure are WordPress websites?
WordPress is very secure with regular updates and professional configuration. We implement firewalls, SSL, 2FA, and regular backups. We conduct security audits for websites in Hamburg and Pinneberg. Our maintenance service guarantees ongoing protection.
Do you offer SEO optimization for CMS websites?
Yes, all our WordPress and Joomla websites are SEO-optimized. On-page SEO, technical SEO, local SEO for Hamburg and the surrounding area—this creates the foundation for good rankings. SEO consulting for businesses in Norderstedt and Ahrensburg. Discover our SEO services , Google Ads , and content marketing.
Can I maintain my website myself later?
Yes, WordPress and Joomla are user-friendly CMS systems. We offer free training on how to use your website. You can edit content, images, and pages yourself. Training is available on-site in Lübeck and Kiel. If needed, we are happy to take over ongoing maintenance as part of our support packages.
How much does a website cost for a craft business?
A solid website with services, a reference gallery, and a contact form costs between €2.100 and €3.550. For more extensive projects—multiple locations, job postings, multilingual support—the price ranges from €4.800 to €8.150. You'll receive a fixed price quote before we begin. Package prices are net, excluding VAT.
What will happen to my old website?
We'll keep any content that's still relevant. We'll redirect the old addresses to the new ones so that neither Google nor your customers end up with a dead end – this is a step many people forget, and it costs them visitors. The old site will remain accessible until the switchover is complete.
Can you create multilingual websites?
Yes, we create multilingual websites with WordPress (WPML, Polylang) and Joomla (native multilingual support). Ideal for international companies in Hamburg, Kiel, and Flensburg. Combine this with our newsletter marketing for international campaigns.
How often should WordPress updates be performed?
WordPress core, themes, and plugins should be updated monthly. Security updates should be installed immediately. We take care of this with our maintenance contracts. Service for businesses in Husum, Schleswig, and Glinde. Contact us via our contact form.
Do you offer emergency support for hacked websites?
Yes, we offer 24/7 emergency support for hacked WordPress and Joomla websites. Malware removal, closing security gaps, and recovery. Fast help for businesses throughout Schleswig-Holstein via our support service.
Who writes the texts for my website?
It's up to you. Many clients provide bullet points and we write the text; others write themselves and we edit. We don't use pure AI-generated texts – they sound like everything and no one, and that's precisely what sets you apart from the competition.
Which industries do you work in?
Our website references come from the trades (De Holtworm Carpentry), healthcare, tourism and holiday rentals (Das blaue Haus, Fewo-Nordostsee.de), industry, and commerce. What these projects have in common is not the industry, but the fact that someone with a real business is behind them – and not just someone who "wants" a website.
Do you also offer logo design and corporate design?
Yes, we offer complete corporate design: logo, business cards, letterhead, and color scheme. A consistent look for your website and print media. Design services in Elmshorn and Norderstedt. In addition, we offer social media marketing for a consistent brand presence.
How long does indexing take at Google?
After your website launches, Google indexing takes 2-4 weeks. We accelerate this process through sitemap submission and Search Console. SEO services for businesses in Reinbek and Quickborn. Use our SEO audit tool for monitoring.
Can existing content be transferred?
Yes, we transfer all existing content, texts, images, and documents to your new WordPress or Joomla website. Professional content migration for companies throughout Schleswig-Holstein. Take advantage of our content marketing services for new content as well.
Do you offer training for employees?
Yes, we train your employees in using WordPress or Joomla. On-site training or online training. Customized training concepts for companies in Hamburg and the surrounding area. We also offer online product marketing training.
How important is SSL for my website?
SSL is essential for security, trust, and SEO. Google prefers HTTPS websites. We implement free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates. Standard for all websites in Barmstedt and Kaltenkirchen. For online shops, we also recommend Trusted Shops certification.
Can you create accessible websites?
Yes, we develop accessible websites according to WCAG 2.1 standards. This is important for public institutions and social service providers. We offer website accessibility services in Uetersen and Wedel. As an experienced website agency, we are familiar with all the requirements.
