New since June 2026: the cancellation button is mandatory

Since June 19, 2026, online shops have been required to allow consumers to declare their cancellation online – with reference to the specific order, with confirmation, and without having to go through email or post. Magento 2 doesn't offer this functionality, and a standard contact form isn't sufficient because it lacks order reference.

In a comparison of the four major Magento checkout extensions – STM, Amasty, OneStepCheckout.com, and Mageplaza – only STM Smart One Page Checkout featured an integrated EU cancellation button in July 2026. This included order tracking, guest checkout support, automatic notifications, and configurable placement.

When is a separate extension worthwhile?

• Your process is your competitive advantage. A calculation, a release process, or a configuration that doesn't exist in any standard module because things work differently in your industry.
• Two systems should communicate with each other. A merchandise management system, a configurator, a logistics service provider – and there's no ready-made connector for it.
• They are using three modules where one would suffice. Pieced-together third-party modules cost licenses, maintenance and loading time – and often break simultaneously with the next Magento update.
• A standard module can handle 90 percent. Then we expand it instead of building a new one – that's usually the shorter way.

How we work

It starts with a discussion about the process you want to implement – ​​not about the technical aspects. From this, a concept is developed, including the scope of work and a fixed price. Development is carried out according to Magento coding standards as a separate module. app/code or via Composer, with tests and documentation that other service providers can also read. The source code belongs to you – you are not bound to us.
